Regain Comfort with Reliable Centipede & Millipede Solutions

Finding centipedes or millipedes in your bathroom, basement, or kitchen is an unpleasant surprise. The damp climate in the Treasure Valley creates the perfect environment for these pests to thrive, often driving them indoors in search of shelter and moisture, leaving you feeling unsettled in your own space.

We are Stonewood Pest, your local and neighborly pest control team. As homeowners ourselves, we take these issues personally and are dedicated to providing safe, effective solutions. We treat your home with the same care and respect we would our own.

Our Approach to Centipede & Millipede Control

At Stonewood Pest, we focus on long-term solutions, not just temporary fixes. Our goal is to create a pest-free and stress-free environment for you and your family. We use a strategic approach that targets these pests where they live and breed while also addressing the reasons they entered your home in the first place.

Our guaranteed service includes these steps:

  • Detailed Inspection: We start by identifying where these pests are hiding and what moisture conditions are attracting them to your property.

  • Exterior Barrier Treatment: We apply a protective treatment around the foundation of your home. This creates a barrier that stops centipedes and millipedes from getting inside.

  • Targeted Interior Applications: If needed, we use family- and pet-friendly products in specific areas indoors, such as basements, garages, and utility rooms, to address any active pests.

  • Actionable Prevention Advice: We will provide you with straightforward recommendations on how to reduce moisture levels and seal up potential entry points to prevent future invasions.

Our method is designed to be thorough and effective, giving you lasting results and a healthy home.

Centipede & Millipede Control FAQs

The easiest way to tell is by their legs. Centipedes have one pair of legs per body segment that jut out sideways, and they move quickly. Millipedes have two pairs of legs per segment positioned directly underneath their body and are much slower.

Millipedes are harmless and tend to curl up when threatened. House centipedes are also generally harmless, though larger ones can bite defensively if handled, which is rare. The bite is comparable to a bee sting but is not medically significant.

A sudden increase in centipedes or millipedes, especially after rain, is usually because they are seeking shelter from overly saturated soil outside or are attracted to damp areas inside your home like basements, crawl spaces, or bathrooms.

The best way is to reduce moisture. Fix leaky pipes, use dehumidifiers in damp areas, and ensure your gutters direct water away from the foundation. Sealing cracks in your foundation and around pipes will also help block their entry points.

The Importance of Professional Control

Over-the-counter pest sprays often provide a temporary fix, only killing the few centipedes or millipedes you can see. They fail to address the underlying source of the problem, which means the pests will almost always return, leading to an ongoing and frustrating cycle.

A professional service goes beyond just spraying. Experts are trained to identify the specific conditions in and around your home that are attracting these pests, such as excess moisture, foundation cracks, or organic debris. Addressing these root causes is the key to a long-term solution.

Professionals also know how to apply treatments in a way that is both effective and responsible. They use targeted methods to protect your family and pets while ensuring the pest population is eliminated, giving you a result that is safer and more reliable than DIY attempts.
